About me

Thank you for joining me on this journey to learn more about general surgery. I was born and raised in the beautiful country of Zimbabwe (Africa). I was then fortunate enough to get accepted to Columbia University in the City of New York so I left everything I knew and moved to the land of opportunity, USA, when I was 19 years old.

After spending a stressful, but amazing 4 years in the Big Apple, I moved to Boston (Beantown) for medical school. After medical school I stayed in Beantown for general surgery residency, which I finished in June 2022. In 2023, I will be moving down south for Bariatrics/Minimally invasive surgery.

I have taken multiple detours throughout this wonderful journey. I spent a year in Rwanda in medical school and two years in Seattle doing hepatobiliary and foregut research. Each detour has taught me many valuable lessons, some of which I will share on this platform.

I have interests in clinical research, surgical education, IT, innovation and Global health. I have done lots of research, so you can check out some of my work below. If you have interest in collaborating, you’re more than welcome to get in touch and we can see if we can work together.
